There are few people in this world who look up into the sky and tell themselves “One day all the stars in the universe, all the planets around them, all the comets and asteroids will belong to us.” There are even fewer in the world that take that same statement and swap the word ‘us’ for ‘me’ and these people are those that you should look out for. Not because they’re crazy, they’re most likely quite sane and just kidding around, but because they have ambition. They won’t get the universe, not in this era, but they will try to take the world. Some will be naturally lucky and fall into a position of power, they’ll usually stop with that; but those who work for their power will take the scent and chase it all the way to the top. Even if there isn’t room, they’ll make their own next step and continue to grow. This can end two ways: 1) everyone loves them 2) they’ll get shot while climbing to the top. So now you know how I’ll go out but don’t worry, I won’t just get shot, I’ll go out in a blaze of glory and take as many people with me as possible. What’s the point of falling if all you have to look forward to is your end? May as well be the cause of other people’s end. I’ll probably pick up Tropico 4 at some point.

It’s a bit annoying trying to play Blazblue online now since I’ve completely fallen out of practice and the only people who play now pretty much have their characters down. It’s not like I can’t compete or rather, I can’t compete because if I want to play more than the same 4 people I’d need a better connection. That’s not going to happen any time soon unless I’m suddenly offered a job as I walk down to the bakery.
Its completely my fault though, I should never have stopped playing for as long as I did. If I’d been smart, I would’ve picked it back up the second CS2 went live… actually that might’ve been when PSN went down. Well, hopefully the “Blue Revolution” announcement has something to do with a new disc-based release. It’d bring in quite a score of new players who will be picking it up and, more selfishly, it’ll give me a chance to get back into the rhythm. Rhythm is something I obviously lack since I use “moving on” as a transition. Like so. Oh and apologies if everything seems rather text heavy today.
So apparently Nexon got part of their shit straight and actually got the whole wing event thing fixed. Picked them up but they’re only half as good as the cash shop wings, even though they’ll eventually be more rare than the cash shop variety. I’m sort of beginning to see Nexon’s business sense, they have a rabid fanbase of school age children whom most likely will not care that other versions of the game have better drops or more content because the game is ‘free’ and the cash shop is only a bonus to them. They’ll just simply use their parents’ credit card to spend money on an online game because they don’t understand the value of a dollar. Nexon knows this so they push it to a point where the things are expensive but not so much that the parents would question the price. It’s somewhat brilliant, though it does deter any older customers that aren’t already part of their horrid fanbase. I’ve never seen a community, aside from the Xbox community, so rabidly defend the missteps of a company and blatant disregard for players in the community. Still, they make money and they’re still around even if they’re horrible when dealing with customers, so they must be doing something right. I’m going back for the PvP and if it doesn’t live up to the hype I’ll be leaving until they raise the bloody level cap and fix the bloody drop rates. It’s such a nice game but Nexon USA just doesn’t care and will remove things only to add them back in later as “a new feature”. Moving on.
DotA2 stream was pretty shitty. To be fair though, I only caught the long first match and the quick final match of the first day. While last one was actually entertaining, the first match was pretty much lag/pauses/more lag/passive/avoidance, was horribly boring and about 90 minutes in length. I honestly just wanted them all to just say “fuck it, we’re done” for the first match. Last one was an amazing demonstration of how a game of DotA2 should work: fast paced, amazing lane control, amazing use of abilities, amazing control of the heroes and great team synergy. Really looking forward to the second day thanks to that last one.
I still don’t get why people are complaining about other DotA clones, “My clone is better than your clone” and such keeps getting tossed around even though they’re pretty much the same game. The general argument seems to be about the lack of denials in League of Legends from the Heroes of Newerth fans but DotA fans don’t seem to care much for the HoN fans since that game didn’t really try anything new. HoN stuck to the same formula and was made by… nobody who had any association with the original DotA mod for Warcraft 3. League of Legends got rid of a few things, most notably was the creep denial, and added summoner powers/rune pages, the game was designed by Guinsoo. DotA2 is pretty much DotA with a face life but there’s hope for new content that won’t ruin the balance thanks to Icefrog’s presence. It doesn’t really matter to me what others play, it just seems idiotic to argue about what people did between DotA and DotA2 or whether they’re still going to keep playing those games. You’re playing video games for fun first and competition second, if you’re not having fun and just play ’cause its more competitive you’re an idiot. Moving on.

There’s a rather simple reason as to why I don’t browse deviantart for any work: compared to Pixiv, the ratio of good works to questionable works is pretty bad. The layout of the site also bothers me a lot and the last time I tried using their search system I wanted to throw my keyboard through the screen. I’m not sure if its changed much but I didn’t like how everything looked like a tornado had hit an emoticon farm and just thrown them all over the place. The comments were right bloody there and couldn’t be hidden. I know, “Don’t look at them” but when you’re able to catch a glimpse of stupidity you have to look and hope that what you think you saw isn’t actually there, but it usually is.
While art is nice, I prefer to see something that comes out of a person’s mind over something a person sees. I don’t want to see the picture of out home star setting in the horizon more than twice a day. I don’t care that you shoved your cat in a box and took a picture of it. I don’t care that your dog fell asleep and you put him next to your sleeping cat. So why can’t I just filter it out or have it off by default? Though to be fair, its really the only place you can easily find rainmeter mods and other custom themes for the Windows UI. That’s enough of that though.
